2. What Are Cookies and Similar Tracking Technologies?
2.1 Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer, smartphone, tablet, or other internet-enabled device (“device”) when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used by website operators to make their websites work efficiently, to enhance the user experience, and to provide information to the owners of the website. Cookies are stored on your device for a specific period of time (the “duration” of the cookie) and may be read by the website or third-party services on subsequent visits.
Cookies contain a unique identifier (a string of letters and numbers) that allows a website to recognise your device and distinguish you from other users. They do not, by themselves, typically reveal your name, email address, or other personal information, unless you have specifically provided that information to the website. However, when combined with other data we or our third-party providers hold, cookies can be used to identify you as an individual.
2.2 Types of Cookies by Origin
- First-party cookies: Cookies set by RCK Analytics directly (the operator of the Website you are visiting). These cookies are generally used to ensure the basic functionality of the Website.
- Third-party cookies: Cookies set by third-party organisations (i.e., a party other than RCK Analytics) when you visit our Website. These third parties may include analytics providers, social media platforms, and marketing technology providers.
2.3 Types of Cookies by Persistence
- Session cookies: Temporary cookies that exist only for the duration of your browser session and are deleted when you close your browser. They are used to keep track of your activity during a single browsing session.
- Persistent cookies: Cookies that remain on your device for a set period of time (which may range from a few days to several years), even after you close your browser. They are activated each time you visit the website that created them.
2.4 Similar Tracking Technologies
In addition to cookies, we and our third-party partners may use similar tracking technologies on the Website, including:
- Web beacons (also known as “clear GIFs,” “pixel tags,” or “tracking pixels”): Tiny transparent images embedded in web pages or emails that allow us to know when a page has been accessed or an email has been opened. They may be used in conjunction with cookies to track user behaviour.
- Local Storage Objects (LSOs) / HTML5 storage: Data stored locally on your browser through HTML5 storage mechanisms, which may function similarly to cookies but are stored differently and may not be cleared when you clear cookies.
- Fingerprinting: A technique used to identify and track devices based on a combination of device and browser attributes (e.g., screen resolution, installed fonts, browser type, IP address) without placing any file on your device. We do not currently use fingerprinting.
- SDKs (Software Development Kits): Code libraries integrated into third-party tools we use that may collect information about your use of the Website.
For the purposes of this Policy, all of the above are collectively referred to as “Cookies.”
3. Why Does RCK Analytics Use Cookies?
RCK Analytics uses Cookies on its Website for the following purposes:
- To ensure the Website operates correctly and securely, and to maintain session integrity across page visits;
- To recognise returning visitors and remember their preferences (such as language settings);
- To analyse Website traffic, user behaviour, and engagement patterns in order to understand which content is most valuable to our visitors and to improve the Website’s structure, navigation, and content;
- To measure the performance and effectiveness of the Website;
- To understand the geographic distribution of our Website visitors, consistent with our global service footprint spanning India, the US, Europe, the UK, the Middle East, BFSI, TMT, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Commodities, Energy and Utilities, Hospitality, and FMCG sectors;
- To facilitate the submission of enquiry forms and contact requests from prospective clients and other visitors;
- To enable social media sharing functions and integration with professional networking platforms;
- To prevent fraudulent use and protect the security and integrity of the Website.
RCK Analytics does not use Cookies for targeted behavioural advertising or to track users across third-party websites for advertising purposes. We do not sell data collected through cookies to any third party for advertising or commercial purposes.
4. Categories of Cookies We Use
Consistent with international best practice, we categorise the Cookies on our Website into the following four categories:
CATEGORY 1 — STRICTLY NECESSARY COOKIES
These cookies are essential for the Website to function properly and securely. They enable core features such as page navigation, session management, security, and form functionality. These cookies are set in direct response to actions you take on the Website (such as filling in a form or setting your cookie preferences). They do not collect any personally identifiable information for marketing purposes. These cookies cannot be switched off in our systems without affecting the Website’s core functionality. No consent is required to place Strictly Necessary Cookies; however, we disclose their use in this Policy.
Strictly Necessary Cookies include those that:
- Maintain your session as you move between pages;
- Remember your cookie consent preferences;
- Enable you to submit the contact form on the Website;
- Protect the Website against cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks;
- Ensure the Website displays correctly and efficiently on your device;
- Enable the reCAPTCHA security function (operated by Google) that protects our contact form from spam and automated abuse.
CATEGORY 2 — PERFORMANCE AND ANALYTICS COOKIES
These cookies allow RCK Analytics to count visits, traffic sources, page views, and user interactions so that we can measure and improve the performance of our Website. They help us understand which pages are visited most frequently, how long visitors spend on each page, how visitors navigate the Website, and where they came from (e.g., from a search engine, social media link, or direct URL). All information collected by performance cookies is aggregated and used solely to improve the Website. Performance cookies do not identify individual users personally. Your consent is required before we place Performance and Analytics Cookies, except where local law provides otherwise.
CATEGORY 3 — FUNCTIONALITY COOKIES
These cookies enable enhanced website functionality and personalisation. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have integrated into our Website. Functionality cookies may, for example, remember your preferences (such as language or region settings) to provide you with a more personalised browsing experience. If you block these cookies, some or all of these enhanced functions may not be available. Your consent is required before we place Functionality Cookies, except where local law provides otherwise.
CATEGORY 4 — SOCIAL MEDIA AND INTEGRATION COOKIES
These cookies are set by social media services and third-party platforms (including LinkedIn, Twitter/X, and YouTube) that we have added to our Website to enable visitors to share content or follow RCK Analytics on these platforms. These third parties may use your data to track your activities across multiple websites and build a profile of your interests. The collection and use of your data by these third parties is governed by their own privacy and cookie policies, over which RCK Analytics has no control. Your consent is required before these cookies are activated on our Website.

You can always view the current cookies on your browser using your browser’s developer tools (F12 > Application > Cookies).
6. Legal Basis for Cookie Processing
The legal basis upon which we process personal data collected through Cookies varies depending on the category of cookie and your jurisdiction of residence:
6.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies — Legitimate Interests and/or Legal Obligation
The processing of personal data through Strictly Necessary Cookies is based on our legitimate interest in operating a functional and secure website, and where applicable, on compliance with legal obligations. As these cookies are essential for the Website to function, no consent is required under applicable law (including Article 5(3) of the EU ePrivacy Directive and its equivalents).
6.2 Performance, Functionality, and Social Media Cookies — Consent
For all non-essential cookies (Categories 2, 3, and 4), we rely on your freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous consent as the legal basis for processing. We obtain consent through our cookie banner, which is displayed to new visitors before any non-essential cookies are placed.
For visitors located in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, this consent is obtained in compliance with Article 6(1)(a) and Recital 32 of the GDPR, and Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive (as implemented in local law).
For visitors located in India, consent is obtained in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.
For visitors in the UAE and GCC jurisdictions, consent is obtained in accordance with the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (PDPL) and applicable local regulations.
6.3 Withdrawal of Consent
You may withdraw your consent to non-essential cookies at any time by: (a) using the cookie preference settings on our Website; or (b) configuring your browser to block or delete cookies (see Section 12). Withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal.
7. Third-Party Cookies and Analytics Providers
7.1 Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4 (“GA4”), a web analytics service provided by Google LLC (“Google”). GA4 uses Cookies to help us analyse how visitors use the Website, including data on pages visited, session duration, device type, geographic location (at a city/region level only), and traffic source. The information generated by the Cookie about your use of the Website is transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.
IP Anonymisation: We have configured Google Analytics to anonymise your IP address before it is stored by Google, meaning only a truncated IP address is transmitted to Google’s servers within member states of the European Economic Area and other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area.
Google’s Use of Data: Google may also use this data in accordance with its own privacy and terms policies. You can learn about Google’s data practices at https://policies.google.com. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Data Processing Agreement: We have entered into a Data Processing Agreement with Google in accordance with Article 28 of the GDPR and applicable data protection law.
7.2 Google reCAPTCHA
Our contact form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, a security tool provided by Google LLC that helps protect websites from spam and abuse. reCAPTCHA works by collecting hardware and software information (such as device and application data) and sending that data to Google for analysis. The information collected in connection with your use of the service will be used to improve reCAPTCHA and for general security purposes; it will not be used for personalised advertising by Google. The use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
7.3 LinkedIn Share and Follow Plugins
Our Website may include LinkedIn Share and Follow buttons. When you view a page of our Website that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to LinkedIn’s servers. LinkedIn may set cookies on your browser, even if you are not logged into LinkedIn, to track interactions with the plugin. If you are logged into LinkedIn, your visit to our Website may be associated with your LinkedIn account. The use of LinkedIn’s plugins is subject to LinkedIn’s Privacy Policy, available at https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy.
7.4 GoDaddy Website Builder
The RCK Analytics Website is hosted and built on the GoDaddy hosting services. GoDaddy may place certain technical and performance cookies on the Website as part of its hosting infrastructure. These are subject to GoDaddy’s own privacy and cookie policies.
RCK Analytics does not exercise control over the cookies placed by third-party providers on the Website. We recommend that you review the privacy and cookie policies of each third-party provider listed above for full details of their data practices.
8. Social Media Plugins and Embedded Content
RCK Analytics’ Website may include buttons, widgets, or embedded content from social media platforms, including LinkedIn and Twitter/X (collectively, “Social Media Platforms”). When you interact with or even simply view such content, data may be transmitted to the Social Media Platform by your browser, even if you do not actively click the button. This data may include your IP address, the URL of the page you visited, browser information, and (if you are logged in) your account information on that platform.
RCK Analytics does not receive or control this data once it is transmitted to the Social Media Platform. The collection and use of this data is governed exclusively by the privacy and cookie policies of the relevant Social Media Platform. We recommend you review those policies before using such features:
- LinkedIn Privacy Policy: https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy
- X (Twitter) Privacy Policy: https://twitter.com/en/privacy
- YouTube / Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
If you are logged into a Social Media Platform account in your browser, that platform may be able to associate your visit to our Website with your account on that platform. To prevent this, you should log out of all Social Media Platform accounts before visiting the RCK Analytics Website.
9. Cookies and Personal Data
Some of the Cookies used on our Website collect data that, alone or in combination with other information held by us or our third-party providers, constitutes personal data as defined under applicable data protection law (including the GDPR, UK GDPR, and India’s DPDPA, 2023). The personal data collected through Cookies may include:
- IP address (which may be used to infer approximate geographic location at country, region, or city level);
- Device identifiers, browser type and version, and operating system;
- Pages visited on the Website and navigation paths;
- Date and time of visits, duration of sessions, and frequency of visits;
- Referring URL (the website you came from before visiting our Website);
- Form submission data (if you contact us through the Website);
- Cookie identifiers that may be associated with your identity if you have previously provided us with your contact information.
All personal data collected through Cookies is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We apply appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect this data, as described in the Privacy Policy. Cookie data may be transferred to countries outside India or your country of residence, including to the United States (in the case of Google), subject to appropriate transfer safeguards (see Section 15).
We do not use Cookies to collect sensitive personal data or information (SPDI) as defined under Indian law, including financial information, health data, or biometric data.
10. Cookie Consent — How We Obtain and Record Your Consent
10.1 Cookie Consent Banner
When you first visit the RCK Analytics Website from a jurisdiction where applicable law requires prior consent for non-essential cookies (including the EU/EEA, UK, UAE, and other jurisdictions that have implemented equivalent requirements), a cookie consent banner will be displayed on your screen. This banner:
- Provides a clear and plain-language explanation of the categories of cookies we use;
- Gives you the ability to accept all cookies, reject all non-essential cookies, or customise your cookie preferences by category;
- Includes links to this Cookie Policy and our Privacy Policy;
- Does not pre-tick any optional cookie categories, ensuring that your consent is freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous (in compliance with the GDPR and ePrivacy Directive);
- Does not condition access to the Website on acceptance of non-essential cookies.
10.2 Consent Records
We maintain records of your cookie consent in accordance with applicable law, including the date and time of consent, the categories of cookies you consented to, and the version of the Cookie Policy in effect at the time. We may use a consent management platform (“CMP”) for this purpose.
10.3 Revisiting Consent Preferences
You may update or withdraw your cookie consent at any time by accessing the cookie preferences settings on our Website. We also display a “Cookie Settings” or “Manage Cookies” link in the footer of the Website for this purpose.
11. Managing, Controlling, and Deleting Cookies
You have several options for managing and controlling the Cookies placed on your device when you visit our Website:
11.1 Cookie Preference Centre (On-Site)
The most straightforward way to control non-essential cookies on our Website is through our on-site Cookie Preference Centre (accessible via the cookie banner or the “Cookie Settings” link in the Website footer). Through this tool, you can accept, reject, or customise cookies by category.
11.2 Google Analytics Opt-Out
To opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites (not just our Website), you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, available free of charge at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Once installed, the add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js, and dc.js) from sharing information about your visit activity with Google Analytics.
11.4 LinkedIn Advertising and Tracking Opt-Out
You can opt out of LinkedIn’s personalised advertising and tracking by visiting your LinkedIn account settings and adjusting your advertising data preferences, or by visiting https://www.linkedin.com/psettings/guest-controls.
11.5 Industry Opt-Out Mechanisms
You may also use industry-wide opt-out mechanisms to limit interest-based and cross-website tracking by multiple advertisers and analytics providers simultaneously:
- Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA): http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ (United States)
- European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (EDAA): http://www.youronlinechoices.eu/ (European Union)
- Network Advertising Initiative (NAI): http://www.networkadvertising.org/choices/ (United States)
Please note that opting out through these mechanisms may not remove all cookies from your device, but will limit the use of your data for certain advertising and tracking purposes by participating companies.
12. Browser-Level Cookie Controls
In addition to our on-site Cookie Preference Centre, you can manage cookies at the browser level. All major modern web browsers provide settings that allow you to:
- Block all cookies (which will prevent some features of the Website from working correctly);
- Block third-party cookies only (which may reduce some tracking);
- Clear all cookies that have been stored on your device;
- Receive an alert whenever a cookie is being set, allowing you to decide whether to accept or reject it on a case-by-case basis.
The following links provide guidance on managing cookie settings in the most commonly used browsers:

| IMPORTANT
Please be aware that disabling or blocking certain cookies may impair the functionality and performance of the RCK Analytics Website. In particular, blocking Strictly Necessary Cookies may prevent you from accessing certain features, including the ability to submit the contact form. RCK Analytics accepts no responsibility for any reduction in Website functionality resulting from your decision to disable or block cookies. |
13. Do Not Track (DNT) Signals
Some browsers include a “Do Not Track” (“DNT”) feature that sends a signal to websites requesting that your browsing activity not be tracked. Currently, there is no universally agreed upon standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals, and no single legal or technical standard has been adopted across all jurisdictions.
RCK Analytics currently does not alter its data collection or use practices in response to DNT signals from browsers. However, we do respect the consent choices you make through our Cookie Preference Centre and support the opt-out mechanisms described in Sections 11 and 12 of this Policy.
If a legally binding DNT or universal opt-out standard is established and becomes applicable to the Website, we will update our practices accordingly and revise this Cookie Policy.
For California residents: California law requires us to disclose whether we honour DNT signals. As stated above, the RCK Analytics Website does not currently respond to DNT signals. California residents may exercise their CCPA rights as described in Section 16 of this Policy.
14. Cookie Duration and Expiry
The duration for which a cookie remains on your device varies depending on the type of cookie and its purpose. As a general summary:
| Session Cookies | Expire automatically when you close your browser. They are not stored permanently on your device. |
| Consent Cookies | Stored for up to 12 months to remember your cookie consent preferences, after which consent will be re-requested. |
| Google Analytics (_ga) | Stored for 24 months from your most recent visit. Renewed each time you visit the Website. |
| reCAPTCHA (_grecaptcha) | Stored for up to 6 months. |
| Social Media Cookies | Duration varies by provider; typically between 24 hours (LinkedIn lidc) and several years (bcookie: 1 year). |
| Functionality Cookies | Typically stored for session duration or up to 1 day depending on the specific cookie. |
Upon expiry, cookies are automatically deleted from your device by your browser. You can also manually clear cookies at any time through your browser settings (see Section 12) or through our Cookie Preference Centre.
15. International Transfers of Cookie Data
Some of the third-party analytics and CRM providers that place cookies on our Website (including Google LLC and Inc.) are headquartered in the United States and process data on servers located in the United States and other countries outside India, the European Economic Area, and the United Kingdom.
Where such international transfers involve personal data of individuals located in the EEA or the UK, they are carried out subject to appropriate legal transfer mechanisms, including:
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission and, where applicable, the UK Information Commissioner’s Office;
- Adequacy decisions by the European Commission or relevant supervisory authorities;
- Other legally recognised transfer mechanisms.
For transfers of data under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we comply with applicable cross-border transfer requirements as prescribed by the Central Government from time to time.

Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Reviewed” date.
Where changes are material (for example, where we introduce a new category of cookie or a new third-party provider), we will notify you by updating the cookie consent banner on the Website so that you are presented with the revised terms and given the opportunity to update your preferences.
